Recovery coaching
Recovery coaching is one-on-one, goal-oriented support designed to help you build the life you want in recovery. This is the practical, side-by-side support that helps you put the work of therapy into action in your daily life.
Sessions are typically held weekly or bi-weekly, in person or by video, and focus on what’s actually going on in your life right now: relationships, work, routines, triggers, goals, and the small daily decisions that add up to lasting change.
Family coaching
Family coaching can help you understand what your loved one is going through, guidance on how to communicate without enabling, and space to take care of yourself in the process.
Sessions can be held independently of your loved one’s own recovery work, or in coordination with it. There is no judgment here — only practical, honest support for people who are doing their best in a genuinely hard situation.
Not sure which service is right for your situation? Reach out for an initial consultation to explore how we can help.
Sober companionship
A sober companion provides intensive, real-world support during the highest-risk periods of recovery. Rather than sitting across a desk, a sober companion is present in your life, accompanying you through the daily situations where recovery is tested.
Sober companion services are available on a flexible basis. Everything is handled with complete discretion and professionalism.
Treatment navigation
The treatment landscape can be overwhelming — levels of care, insurance requirements, program waitlists, discharge planning. Our team's deep familiarity and connections within the Philadelphia and regional treatment system means we can help you find the right fit quickly, advocate for your needs, and make the transition between levels of care as smooth as possible.
Client testimonials
Family coaching client
Common Ground Recovery Partners provided exceptional recovery coaching during one of the most challenging periods my family has faced. Their team helped us understand the dynamics of my mother’s alcohol addiction, set realistic expectations, and communicate in ways that supported—not escalated—the situation.
Their guidance on discussing treatment options, navigating resistance, and approaching rehab conversations was invaluable. We called our coach the moment my mother agreed to go to rehab, and within 5 minutes Common Ground had us en route to a local facility that was expecting us and prepared to enroll my mother (including one that took our insurance, had the right blend of detox, psychological coaching approaches, and environment that would appeal based on an understanding of who my mother is).
What stood out most was their ability to balance clinical expertise with empathy and zero judgment.
Common Ground is a rare resource: knowledgeable, accessible, and genuinely committed to helping families move toward stability and recovery. I highly recommend their services.

Mike was the component I needed in my recovery to make it work. He made the work that you have to put into it not feel like work.
I have 4 years and I still connect with him all the time. I'm very grateful for him and I feel blessed to have him in my corner. I feel like we share my success in recovery.
He inspired me to give to others, what he gave to me. That service to others struggling is the greatest reward.

I was in a cycle of Use. Abuse. Rehab. Repeat. I couldn't get any more than 2 or 3 months of clean time. Then Mike dropped into my life.
I know I wasn't easy to deal with. I would say anything I could think of just to argue. He would just smile and say 'OK'. It was his action that made me want to make real change in my life.
I lost my mother during recovery. I thank God I had Mike during that time, otherwise I probably would have joined her shortly after. He carried me through the worst time in my life. I'm forever grateful for him.
